PORTO

Porto Map
Porto is home to the famous sweet wine Port, design of boats "rabelos" that ply the river Douro and is also noted for the D Luis I bridge the design of which was influenced by Eiffel. Like much of Portugal, Porto had numerous ceramic tiled buildings with cobbled streets. The streets were very narrow, but still allowed traffic in both directions. The bus had to use its horn when driving on then to warn oncoming traffic.
It was overcast, damp and cold when we were there.
