PERUGIA

The capital of Umbria is the university town of Perugia. Featuring underground Etruscan/Medieval complex, today it is known as a good place to learn languages (and for Perugina chocolates).
We visited the ceramics museum in Deruta which is famous for it's maiolica ceramics.

The city's symbols are the griffin of Perugia and the Imperial Guelf lion

Our Hotel was literally a Palace. Originally built in the 1400s it was in use until the 1950s before recently being converted to a hotel.
