We pass our first Hill top town.
Vineyards, Olive groves and Cypress trees... this is Tuscany. Tuscany has so many shaded of green. Cypress trees mean welcome. Olive trees are silver and Cypress trees are tall dark and thin.

Road tolls pay for the maintenance on the main highways. The free roads are not maintained and are rather rough. Autogrills Great for a quick comfort stop with cheap food.
SCALIGERO CASTLE, SOAVE, VENETO
Scaligero Castle is well known for wine production.
RAVENNA, RAVENNA
Ravenna was the capital to the Western Roman Empire from 402 until 476 and later became the capital of the Kingdom of the Ostrogoths and the Exarchate of Ravenna until 751.
The Basilica of Sant' Apollinare Nuovo was erected by the Ostrogoth King Theodoric during the 6th century.
