In the confusion of road detours and closures, it was uncertain if we would get near the race track on the first day of the time trails, but our driver managed to cross the starting line and find his way to drop us off near the casino. The next day we visited the old town with the palace and cathedral while the formula 1 time trials continued.

Èze has been described as an “eagle's nest” due to its location overlooking a high cliff 427 metres above sea level on the French Mediterranean.
First populated around 2000 BC, an Egyptian cross inside the church suggests the village's ancient roots. The Phoenicians erected a temple there and the area was subsequently occupied by both the Romans and Moors.
The gardens of Eze are known for their collection of cactus and succulents, as well as the panoramic views.
