Located in the mountainous highlands of Guatemala and overlooked by a number of Volcanoes, Antigua is the former capital of Guatemala. Antigua lost its status as capital after being devistated by a series of earthquakes in the 18th century. The cobbled streets are home to numerous historic buildings dating back to Spanish colonial times, along with tuk-tuks and chicken buses.
